The
girls competed at Nationals in Salem, Oregon and had an amazing experience.
They beat the Nevada state champions 11-2 in a game that ended after
midnight. Read coach Gary's play-by-play account of the week
and see some great pictures on the Folsom Freedom
site. Nice hats guys! |

In
a stunning come-from-behind victory the 12U team beat the Auburn Storm in their
3rd
show-down this past weekend. The Storm beat Freedom a few
weeks prior to win the Tahoe tournament. This time they tied in the
seeding game and then Freedom beat the
Storm on Sunday to take third in the Davis. With 2 outs and the
tying run on 3rd
watch what happened. |

| Being a Successful Sport Parent (part 1 in a series) Team USA Coach Mike Candrea |
|
Being a great sport parent is really easy if you can follow some simple guidelines.Set your priorities. What should we get out of this experience? Have fun and encourage your child to be a student of the game. Remember that when an athlete has a low skill level and a high challenge, they become frustrated. When the skill level is high and the challenge is low, they get bored. Early development should emphasize skill development in a non-threatening environment. The key is having fun while learning the game. As the skill level increases so should the challenge or you will lose their interest! Want to learn more?
